Former Site of the Luoyuan County Soviet Government

The former site of the Luoyuan County Soviet Government is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Luoyuan County Soviet Government is located in Shoushan Natural Village, Cangqian Village, Feizhu Township, Luoyuan County.

In March 1934, Chen Zhishu and Su Da, leaders of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, along with Wei Geng, Yang Caiheng, Chen Ermei, and others dispatched by the committee, established the Luoyuan County Soviet Government inside the residence of the Ruan family in Shoushan Natural Village, Cangqian Village, Feizhu Township. At the same time, four districts and over 70 village-level Soviet governments were formed, and some districts and townships also established organizations such as the Communist Youth League, Women's Associations, and Peasants' Associations. In October, after the Red Army troops withdrew from Luoyuan, the Nationalist army, local militias, and landlord elites carried out a “cleansing” operation in the Soviet area, which suffered an unprecedented catastrophe. Leaders of the county Soviet government, including Chairman Ruan Zaiyong and Organization Minister Yang Tingying, were successively killed. By March 1935, the entire Soviet area of the county had fallen, and the Party organization was forced to continue the struggle underground.

The former site of the Luoyuan Soviet Government is situated in a residential house, covering an area of approximately 350 square meters with a built-up area of 200 square meters. It features a brick-and-wood structure, a front courtyard, and earthen walls, and is currently well preserved.
