Fujian Ship Administration Buildings

The Fujian Ship Administration Buildings are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

From the second half of 2004 to the end of June 2010, Mawei District invested a total of 105 million yuan to implement the first phase of the Ship Administration Cultural Heritage Restoration Project: planning the protection and development scope of Ship Administration cultural heritage sites, completing the restoration, preservation, and venue construction of Ship Administration heritage sites; improving exhibitions at venues such as the China Ship Administration Culture Museum and the Mawei Naval Battle Memorial Hall; and improving the surrounding environment of Ship Administration cultural heritage scenic spots. The Ship Administration cultural heritage site cluster was listed among the first batch of “National Defense Education Demonstration Bases.”

It is understood that the Ship Administration cultural heritage site cluster integrates heritage resources in the one-square-kilometer riverfront area from Mawei Shipyard to Luoxingta Park and nearby attractions such as the Ship Administration Tianhou Palace, Catholic Church, and Qianpo Fort on Yingduo Mountain. These sites are divided by function into six zones: Mawei Ancient Ferry, Mawei Shipyard, Malian Mountain Park, Yingduo Mountain, Jiuman Port Area, and Luoxingta Park. As one of the projects under Mawei District’s “Five Major Campaigns,” the construction of Ship Administration culture has seen an investment of nearly 200 million yuan.
