Hui'an Keshan Forest Park

Hui'an Keshan Forest Park covers a total area of 2.2 square kilometers. It is the only urban comprehensive leisure park in Hui'an County and has been designated as a provincial-level forest park and one of the first scenic spots in Quanzhou City.

The entire park mainly consists of two relatively independent yet interconnected scenic areas—Keshan Temple and Pingshan Temple—as well as two small reservoirs with a combined capacity of 650,000 cubic meters and 25 uniquely sized and distinctive mountain landscapes, where water and mountain views complement each other. The park boasts abundant rocky scenery resources, featuring oddly shaped, uniquely formed, and lifelike boulders. The area is rich in plant diversity, with a green coverage rate of 67.4% and a pleasant climate. The cultural and historical sites within the park have strong local characteristics. Keshan Temple, built in 1083 during the Song Dynasty, along with cliff inscriptions from the Ming, Qing, and modern periods, remain well-preserved. Pingshan Temple, originally constructed during the Later Liang period of the Five Dynasties and rebuilt in the late Ming Dynasty, also houses the Pingshan Temple Pagoda, built in 1335 during the Yuan Dynasty, which still stands today and was further enhanced in grandeur after reconstruction in the late 1980s.

Based on the park’s land scope and characteristics, the overall layout is divided into nine major functional zones: the Stone Culture Series Functional Zone, the Hui’an Women Tourism Resort Series Functional Zone, the Wood Culture Functional Zone, the Religious Culture Functional Zone, the People’s Heroes Monument, the Children’s Entertainment Functional Zone, the Camping Resort and Forest Green Culture Exhibition Functional Zone, and the Water Culture Exhibition Zone. Among them, some notably distinctive and well-known attractions include the Huiquan Waterfall, Jinxiu Pavilion, the Spirit of Keshan, the Dragon Girl Statue, the Hundred Lions Garden, the Lotus Tower, and the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument. Four main touring routes have been established, each lined with continuous scenic spots, and plants of varying seasonal features have been arranged according to the functional zoning.
