The Guo Clan Tombs of Baiqi

The Guo Clan Tombs of Baiqi are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Guo Clan Tombs of Baiqi are located in Xiadai Village and Lichun Village, Baiqi Hui Ethnic Township, Taijiang Investment Zone, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province.

The tomb complex consists of the graves of the first to seventh-generation ancestors of the Guo family from Baiqi Hui Ethnic Township—the only Hui autonomous township in Fujian.

All the tombs are built of stone, with their cover seats designed in the Islamic stupa-style base structure. The selection of the burial sites and the architectural style of the tomb area largely follow Han Chinese traditions. They serve as a spiritual anchor for tens of thousands of descendants of the Baiqi Guo Clan, embodying the cultural exchanges between China and Arabia as well as the integration of Hui and Han cultures in China. They symbolize the friendship and artistic exchange between the Chinese and Arab peoples, and are valuable physical materials for studying Hui-Han cultural interaction, development, and international cultural exchanges.
