Xuanhui Villa

Xuanhui Villa is a cultural relic protection unit of Hui’an County.

Xuanhui Villa is located in Puzhi Natural Village, Fengqi Village, Wangchuan Town, dating back to the modern era.

Funded and initiated by overseas Chinese He Jishui who returned from Nanyang, the villa was constructed between 1951 and 1954. It faces south and features a two-courtyard, five-bay layout with an eastern wing, covering an area of about 900 square meters and comprising a total of 28 rooms. The main structure includes a front hall, courtyard, central hall, and rear wing, built with a brick, stone, and wood structure, featuring a flush gable roof and swallowtail ridges. The interior of the main house is exquisitely carved with high-quality materials, and the gate is flanked by stone and brick carvings depicting figures, flowers, birds, and inscriptions. The eastern wing is divided into front and rear sections, with the rear part having two floors. The second floor has wooden flooring, and a covered veranda is built on the outer platform. The villa blends traditional Southern Fujian architectural styles with Nanyang influences, featuring a unique design and well-preserved condition.

Xuanhui Villa is listed as a cultural relic protection unit in the 11th batch of Hui’an County.

Protected area: to the south up to the exterior wall of residential houses, and to the east, west, and north up to the alleys.
