The former site of the command post of the "Hui'an Uprising" – Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Hui'an County and a classic red tourism destination.

The former site of the command post of the "Hui'an Uprising" – Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Yutou Village, Dongqiao Town, Hui'an County.

In September 1930, under the leadership of the Fujian Provincial Committee and the Quanzhou Special Committee, the Hui'an County Committee launched the "Hui'an Uprising," a revolt that shook the entire Fujian region. In the early stages of the uprising, the Kuomintang local government was dealt a devastating blow. The insurgents captured the Shanbing Militia Watchtower, killed the militia commander Chen Wenzhou and his father Chen Yizhao, and executed the local despots Lin Xiaochun and Lin Liangchuan of Qianlin. They also established the Soviet governments of Wuchen Township and Hutaitou Village.

On the afternoon of September 18, they advanced to Yutou Village, more than 10 li from the county seat, in preparation for a joint attack on the city.

The Red Army led the troops into the village and set up camp in the large ancestral hall, where they made strategic deployments for the entire Yutou Mountain position.

On the 19th, two companies of the Lin Shouguo Brigade of the enemy Marine Corps, along with one howitzer platoon, the county militia's standing force, and others — totaling over a thousand men — surrounded Yutou Mountain. After more than two hours of fierce fighting, the battle was lost. The battalion commander Zeng Laibi of the Red Second Regiment and the regimental political commissar Chen Kun were killed in action.

The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall was later renovated with funds raised by clan members and has been listed as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.
