Jiulongji Waterfall

Guide Located 13 kilometers southeast of Zhouning County. The area features unique peaks, exquisite rocks, and deep valleys. The Longjiang Stream cascades down steep cliffs and precipices in layers, forming a series of nine waterfalls. Introduction According to measurements by relevant authorities, the total drop of the waterfall is about 300 meters. The first tier has a drop of approximately 47 meters and a width of 76 meters, which can reach up to 83 meters during the wet season. The splashing mist from the falls rises over 10 meters high, and the area remains shrouded in spray even 100 meters away. To the upper right of the waterfall lies a pool about 10 meters in diameter that appears and disappears amid the falls, known locally as the “Dragon Eye.” The third and fourth tiers have a drop of 7 meters and a width of over 50 meters. The fifth tier is split in half by a huge rock, also called the “Dragon Fang Waterfall.” Below the fifth tier lies a deep pool covering an area of more than 1,000 square meters, named the “Crouching Dragon Pool,” where visitors can go boating to view the falls. The sixth to ninth tiers form the “Four-Tiered Falls,” also known as the “Four-Fold Falls,” with a total drop of about 60 meters. These falls are connected one after another, tier upon tier. The Jiulongji Waterfall group is a rare and recently discovered waterfall formation, now listed as one of the first batch of provincial-level scenic spots in Fujian Province.
