The former residence of Martyr Ruan Boqi is located at No. 12 Shangguanxiang Lane, Tangxi Village, Tantou Town, Fu’an City. It dates back to the Daoguang era (1821–1850) and is categorized as an important modern historical site and representative architecture.

Martyr Ruan Boqi was a native of Tangxi Village, Tantou Town, Fu’an City. He joined the revolutionary movement in 1932 and successively held positions such as member of the Fu’an Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, secretary, deputy secretary of the Urban Work Department of the Min-Zhe-Jian District Committee of the Communist Party of China and temporary working committee of eastern Fujian, and deputy secretary of the Eastern Fujian Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China. The house is situated at No. 12 Shangguanxiang Lane, Tangxi Village, Tantou Town, Fu’an City. Originally built during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1821–1850), it faces south and is constructed with a brick, wood, and earth structure in a courtyard style. The overall layout is square-shaped, covering a total area of 1,070.4 square meters. It mainly consists of a gate lane, a central courtyard with wing rooms on both sides, the main house, a rear courtyard with wing rooms, and a porch. The main house features a mixed post-and-lintel and through-tenon construction, with a flush gable roof, spanning five bays in width and seven columns in depth. The central bay has an open ceiling with a false roof. The slightly narrower side rooms include private reception areas, each fronted by a small courtyard, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere. Currently, one family still resides in the house.

On February 20, 2013, the People’s Government of Fu’an City designated it as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit in the fifth batch.
