The Fu Chun Stream is flanked by green mountains and flows through the urban area of Fu’an with clear waters. Along the stream, the “Sichun” parks have been developed. These four parks are distinct yet interconnected, complementing each other in scenery.

Fu Chun Park is located in downtown Fu’an and gets its name from its position along the Fu Chun Stream. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it was established as “Zhongshan Park” but was later abandoned. Reconstructed in 1982, it covers an area of over 20 hectares and has become a forest park that integrates with the mountains and stream, fully showcasing natural landscapes. According to the old “Fu’an County Annals,” the Fu Chun Stream used to frequently suffer from floods. To prevent disasters, bamboo and trees were extensively planted and cutting them was strictly prohibited. Over time, this formed a dense flood-prevention forest belt. Today, the Fu Chun Stream banks are shaded by ancient trees and bamboo groves, with over 20 species including pine, camphor, maple, birch, cypress, acacia, windmill palm, and red bean trees, interspersed with flowers of all seasons, filling the park with fragrance and offering a tranquil environment. During hot summer days, the temperature in the park can be 5–6°C lower than outside. The stream here has broad sandy beaches and murmuring waters. In the distance, Xianxiu Peak rises straight into the clouds, while nearby Gu Lake Mountain lies quietly by the water, making it an ideal summer retreat.

The park’s entrance gates are built in the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty, with golden glazed tiles and vermilion palace walls, giving off an antique and elegant feel. Within the park stands a large marble stele about 4 square meters in size, surrounded by green bamboo. The stele resembles a miniature postage stamp, with a square piece of black marble inlaid in the center. The smooth stone surface is engraved with three gilded characters: “Chuan You Wan Li, Guo Mai Suo Xi” (Mail Travels Thousands of Miles, Vital to the Nation’s Lifeline), signed in the lower left corner by “—”. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), Fu’an native Lin Zhuowu served as the Chief Postal Inspector in Xi’an and participated in the discussions on the “Postwar Postal Agreement.” On May 9 of that year, — inscribed these words for him. In 1981, Lin Zhuowu’s children donated Zhou Enlai’s calligraphy to the state. On May 9, 1981, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a commemorative stamp for this occasion. In 1990, the local government erected a stele in Fu Chun Park to commemorate the event.

The paths in the park are paved with pebbles, with stone tables and benches set along the way. The park features a dragon-phoenix rockery, a lotus fish pond, zigzag bridges, flower beds, as well as sculptures of turtles and cranes, pandas playing with bamboo, and scenic spots like Yingchun Pavilion, Guihu Pavilion, Turtle-Releasing Platform, and Ancient Battery. To the south of the park lies one of the “Ten Scenic Spots of Hanyang”—“Gu Lake Sunset”: a peculiar rock resembling a turtle stretches its nose into the water, and when the sun sets, the reflection of the lake and the rock is truly breathtaking.

Manchun Park, located on the opposite bank of Fu Chun Park, covers a total area of over 40 hectares. It is home to numerous century-old ancient trees and is praised as the “urban primeval forest.” The park features ancient camphor, pine, and banyan trees, vigorous and rustic, some like old men with drooping beards and others like verdant pavilions. Inside, there are uniquely shaped trees such as “Ox Head,” “Young Boy,” “Dharma Facing the Wall,” “Arhat in Meditation,” “Spiritual Turtle,” “Spiritual Snake,” and “Dragon-Phoenix Gate.”

Yangchun Park covers a total area of about 70 hectares and includes vast flood-prevention forest belts, mainly consisting of pine, cypress, birch, and windmill bamboo.

Yingchun Park is centered around Xianxiu Mountain. The park is home to hundreds of tree species thriving together, along with abundant flowers. Dozens of wild animals such as pangolins, weasels, partridges, and larks inhabit the woods. The area has a unique climate, and one of the “Ten Scenic Spots of Hanyang”—“Xianxiu Clear Clouds”—is located here. In spring and summer, when the clouds are misty, the “Buddha’s Halo” can even be seen atop Tian’gu Stone at the mountain peak.
