Fu'an Baiyun Mountain

Fu'an Baiyun Mountain is a national scenic area and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Baiyun Mountain is located in the northwest of Fu'an City and is named for the frequent presence of white clouds around it. On the western slope of the rear peak of Baiyun Mountain stands the “Lengshui Temple,” which was built in the fourth year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1509). In front of the temple lies the “Heavenly Pool,” known for its abundance of midday blooming lotus flowers. These unique flowers emerge from the water and bloom precisely at noon, producing a crisp popping sound when they open, and they are white in color. Baiyun Mountain has a distinctive climate. In addition to the ever-changing sea of clouds that can often be seen, visitors to Xian Ding Peak may also witness the rare “Buddha’s Light.” The temperature in the mountain is 6–8 degrees lower than the outside, making it an ideal destination for tourism and summer retreat.

Surrounding Baiyun Mountain are attractions such as Carp Stream, Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, Nine Dragons Cave, Suoquan Temple, Empress Dowager Hall, and the Temple of the Five Manifestations of the Emperor. The scenic area is often home to wild macaques. At “Nine Dragons Cave,” there is a secondary waterfall with a drop of about 80 meters, where the water cascades through pools and into rocks. The Carp Stream here is comparable to the one in Zhouning.
