Baizhu Yang is located southeast of Xibing Town in Fu'an City, 40 kilometers from the city center, and serves as the essential route to Xiapu and Taimu Mountain. Surrounded by rolling mountains, the area features a vast expanse of flat land with fertile fields. Within its territory stands a unique rock formation shaped like a white pillar. Since the character "white" is considered inauspicious among locals, it was changed to "cypress," hence the name Baizhu Yang. Baizhu Yang consists of 10 villages and numerous temples, and was once the center of the revolutionary base in eastern Fujian. The Soviet Government of Eastern Fujian and the Special Committee of Eastern Fujian were both established here, and historical sites such as the former offices of the “Soviet Government of Eastern Fujian,” “Central Special Committee of Eastern Fujian,” “Women’s Federation of Eastern Fujian,” and “Communist Youth League Special Committee of Eastern Fujian” are still preserved today.

The ancient temples in Baizhu Yang mainly include Baolin Temple, Jingfu Temple, Qiaotou Temple, Ziran Temple, Shifeng Temple, and Qiyun Temple. Shifeng Temple is one of the eight major temples in Fu'an. Built in the first year of the Tang Dynasty's Jingfu era (892 AD), it has retained its Tang-style architecture despite the passage of time. The Mahavira Hall features stacked arch-and-bracket construction, with twenty-four square stone pillars standing in the hall. The temple also boasts winding corridors, upturned eaves, painted beams, and exquisite craftsmanship. Legend has it that Emperor Zhengde of the Ming Dynasty composed a couplet during his visit and bestowed upon the temple the plaque inscribed with “Shifeng Guanghua Chanlin.”
