Fu’an Leshan Bridge

Located about 2 kilometers on the Tangxi River in Tangxi Village, Tan Tou Township, Fu’an City, Fujian Province, it is a historic bridge on the ancient road connecting Tan Tou to Shangbaishi. Built during the Guangxu era (1875–1908) with sole funding from Shi Guangling, a martial arts scholar from Tanyang, it was rebuilt by the government in 1955. The bridge spans 25 meters, has a single arch, is 5 meters wide, and 18 meters high. Both ends of the bridge are built on square stone foundations. The main structure is made of fir wood, topped with a covered bridge pavilion. The bridge deck is flanked by walls that extend up to the eaves of the pavilion, serving both as railings and protection against wind and rain, helping to prevent erosion of the bridge structure. Bridge pavilions are set up on both sides of the deck for travelers to rest.
