The Qinxī Lián Clan Ancestral Hall

The Qinxī Lián Clan Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Fu’an City.

The Qinxī Lián Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Qinxī Village, Chengyang Town, Fu’an City. It was first built in the 40th year of the Wanli era (1612), and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

The ancestral hall is located in the center of Qinxīyáng Village, Chengyang Town. Originally built in the 40th year of the Wanli era (1612), it was renovated in the 14th year of the Jiaqing era (1809), and the front section, the Crown Prince Hall, was constructed in the 5th year of the Guangxu era, the Year of Yǐmǎo (1879). Facing south and backed by the north, it is a brick-and-timber structured corridor-style courtyard building, with a total width of 16.8 meters and a depth of 51.2 meters, covering a floor area of 666.25 square meters. The structure consists of three sections in a through-tenon style with reduced central pillars, including a wooden memorial archway, theater stage, courtyard, main hall, another courtyard, and rear hall. The ancestral worship hall is five bays wide and seven pillars deep, with a circular caisson ceiling decorated with colored paintings inside. The side bays are open, while the two wing rooms on either side and the inner side of the main hall are used as shrines to enshrine spirit plaques. It is the most intact ancestral hall building currently existing in Qinxīyáng, Chengyang Town. The hall also preserves a stone stele inscribed with the text “是用孝享” (“Thus is filial piety offered”), erected in the 7th year of the Yongzheng era of the Qing Dynasty, the Year of Yǐyǒu, in the third month of Línzhōng, documenting the boundaries, property, and donor contributions of the ancestral hall. This ancestral hall provides a very important physical artifact for the study of Fu’an’s historical culture and human heritage, and holds significant reference value for research on the development of the Lián clan.

On February 20, 2013, the People's Government of Fu’an City designated it as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit in the fifth batch.

Protected area: 2 meters beyond the east and west exterior walls of the building, and 5 meters outward from the front and rear foundations.
