Yulin Yuting Bridge

Yulin Yuting Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Fu'an City.

Yulin Yuting Bridge is located in Yulin Village, Muyun Township, Fu'an City. It was built in the 38th year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1902) and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

The bridge is situated on a stream 200 meters southeast of Yulin Village in Muyun Township. Its original construction date is unclear, but the existing bridge was constructed in the 38th year of the Guangxu reign (1902) and underwent renovation in the 38th year of the Republic of China (1949). It runs from north to south and is a single-span wooden arch covered bridge. The bridge is 31 meters long, 7.3 meters wide, with a clear span of 24.3 meters and a height of 4.6 meters. The arch has a rise of 9.4 meters, and the total area is 226.3 square meters. The bridge house consists of 27 bays and 56 pillars, featuring a post-and-lintel wooden frame and a double-sloped roof. Rain shelters are added at both ends of the bridge. The bridge deck is paved with horizontal wooden planks, and wooden railings are installed on both sides. The exterior is covered with fish-scale boards (also known as wind and rain shields), while the interior is furnished with long benches for travelers to rest. The bridge abutments are built with strip stones. The central bay of the bridge house houses a wooden shrine, measuring 3.2 meters in width, 0.9 meters in depth, and 1.55 meters in height. It is currently the second-largest covered bridge in Fu'an City in terms of span. Due to social development and improved transportation, covered bridges have become largely neglected and are increasingly rare. Preserving the limited number of such bridges is particularly valuable, and this bridge holds certain significance for the study of the history of covered bridge development in our city, the entire eastern Fujian region, and even China.

On February 20, 2013, the People's Government of Fu'an City designated it as a Cultural Relic Protection Unit under the fifth batch of municipal-level listings.

Protected area: An extension of 10 meters around the bridge.
