Lianling Beacon Tower

Lianling Beacon Tower is a cultural relic protection unit of Fu'an City.

Lianling Beacon Tower is located in Linling Village, Banzhong Township, Fu'an City, dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, and is categorized as an ancient architectural structure.

It is situated on a hill 400 meters southwest of Linling Village in Banzhong Township. The exact time of the beacon tower's initial construction is unknown and cannot be verified. It is said to have been built during the Ming Dynasty for defense against Japanese pirates. The beacon tower is constructed from irregularly shaped large stones, with a circular base. Its total height is 3.6 meters, the circumference of the base is 43.6 meters, and the surface area of the beacon tower is 31.1 square meters. The walls are built with “six-layered stone,” and the base consists of massive stone blocks, making it a relatively well-preserved beacon tower. Located on the mountain ridge separating Fu'an from Xibeiyang, the east side overlooks the entire Fu'an Basin, while the west side faces the Xibeiyang Basin. From this vantage point, both basins are fully visible. It holds certain value for the study of the city’s historical and cultural heritage.

On February 20, 2013, the People's Government of Fu'an City designated it as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units.

Protected area: An extension of 5 meters beyond the outer walls of the structure.
