Fu'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Fu'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is a cultural relic protection unit of Fu'an City.

The Fu'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located in Shitoushan Village, Saqi Town, Fu'an City. It was first built in 1956 and is classified as a modern-era significant historical site and representative building.

Located on a hill about 200 meters northeast of Shitoushan Village in Saqi Town, it was built to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs of Fu'an City. Originally established in 1956 on a loess mound at the bridgehead of Saqi, it was relocated to the back hill of Shitoushan Village in June 1997 and underwent major maintenance in 2009. The entire memorial park mainly consists of the monument, martyrs' tombs, a martyrs' pavilion, and a corridor-pavilion flower garden, covering an area of 4,493.8 square meters. The entire monument structure is made of bluestone, with a square floor plan measuring 17.4 meters by 17.15 meters. The monument is divided into four levels: the first level features a bluestone-paved platform and flower garden accessed by three-tiered steps on all four sides; the second level is an observation deck with railings; the third level is a black granite square structure placed in the center of the second level, with the front inscribed with "Eternal Glory to the People's Heroes" and the other three sides carved with patterns of pine and crane, deer and bamboo, plum and magpie, among others. Above this is the main body of the monument, shaped like a gun barrel, with the inscription "Fu'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument" running vertically from top to bottom on the front. Behind the monument lies a circular martyrs' tomb made of cement, surrounded by five tiers of circular steps, where the remains of the martyrs are laid to rest. The martyrs' pavilion is a hexagonal structure made of bluestone. The overall layout is neat and spacious, making it an ideal place for paying tribute to revolutionary martyrs and also beneficial for promoting revolutionary traditions and patriotic education.

On February 20, 2013, the Fu'an Municipal People's Government designated it as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit in the fifth batch.
