Min Dong She Ethnic Group Revolutionary Memorial Hall

The Min Dong She Ethnic Group Revolutionary Memorial Hall is located in Fu’an City, Fujian Province. The exhibition hall covers an area of 342 square meters and displays *The History of the Revolutionary Struggle of the Min Dong She Ethnic Group*. It showcases 120 photographs and charts of revolutionary sites, 76 cultural relics, 38 portraits of figures, and four historical paintings, bringing together the essence of the region’s She ethnic revolutionary artifacts and art, and recreating the heroic struggle of the Min Dong She people from 1929 to 1949 for national unity and ethnic solidarity and progress.

Min Dong is one of the old revolutionary bases in Fujian Province, and the Min Dong She ethnic group has a long history of revolutionary struggle. During the New Democratic Revolution under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Min Dong She people went through an extremely difficult, tortuous, and heroic journey—from embracing the spark of Marxism-Leninism to welcoming the dawn of the republic. Especially during the most arduous and critical three-year guerrilla war in southern China, the Min Dong She people made tremendous sacrifices for the survival and development of the local Communist Party and the Red Army in Min Dong. In this war, 496 members of the Min Dong She ethnic group were recognized as revolutionary martyrs, accounting for 7% of the total number of revolutionary martyrs in the region (while the She ethnic population made up only 5% of the total population).

Currently, the Min Dong She Ethnic Group Revolutionary Memorial Hall is an important site for spiritual civilization construction in Min Dong and serves as a key platform for patriotic education, revolutionary tradition education, and education on ethnic unity and progress.
