The former site of the working group of the 6th Division, Red 3rd Army Corps in Xiao Fang is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The former site of the working group of the 6th Division, Red 3rd Army Corps in Xiao Fang is located in Xiao Fang Village, Dayuan Township, Jiangle County, dating back to 1931.

Description: It includes four structures — the ancestral house of the Zhang family, the ancestral house of the Zhang family at Tuku Ping (nicknamed the “Mandarin Duck Building”), the archway of the Zhang family ancestral hall, and the Chastity Archway. The ancestral house of the Zhang family was originally built during the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty (1621–1627), while the others were built during the Qing Dynasty. On June 3, 1931, Peng Dehuai commanded the 6th Division of the Red 3rd Army Corps to advance toward Tai Ning via two routes. On June 4, Tai Ning was liberated, and a working group was dispatched to establish a township-level Soviet regime — the Township Revolutionary Committee — in Xiao Fang, Dayuan Township, among other places. This committee was under the jurisdiction of the Revolutionary Committee of Maling District, Tai Ning County, with Xie Youxing as its chairman. Its office was located in the ancestral house of the Zhang family. The group also established various mass organizations such as peasant associations, poor peasants' leagues, women's associations, and Young Pioneers, mobilizing the public to struggle against local tyrants, burn land deeds, abolish debt agreements, and raise grain and funds. During the stay of the 6th Division Working Group in Xiao Fang, Dayuan, its members resided in the ancestral home of the Zhang family and the adjacent Mandarin Duck Building. On July 9, 1931, the 6th Division was ordered to conclude its divisional operations and withdrew from Xiao Fang via Jiangle and Guiding to return to southern Jiangxi to participate in the Third Encirclement Campaign. In January 1933, the Land Revolution Committee was established in Xiao Fang Village, Dayuan District, organizing and mobilizing peasants to carry out land redistribution.

In 2018, the former site of the working group of the 6th Division, Red 3rd Army Corps in Xiao Fang was announced by the People’s Government of Fujian Province as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units.
