On the 20th, reporters learned from a press conference held by the Gansu Provincial Press Office that, with the approval of the Mountaineering Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the 2013 National Mass Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference will be held on July 18 at the Biandukou Ecological Leisure Tourism Scenic Area in Minle County, Gansu Province.
It is reported that the theme of this mountain climbing conference is “Meet at Biandukou, Get Close to the Qilian Mountains.” The event mainly consists of two parts: hiking and climbing the Qilian Mountains, and participating in fun and leisure sports activities. The hiking section includes routes for both professional and amateur athletes, divided into male and female categories. The fun and leisure sports activities mainly include ball-carrying jump runs, kangaroo relay races, tug-of-war, rope skipping competitions, and target shooting. In total, more than 5,000 people are expected to participate in the mountain climbing fitness activities and fun sports competitions.
It is understood that the event organizing committee has set up nine working groups: comprehensive coordination, logistics support, safety and stability maintenance, transportation support, publicity and reporting, environmental sanitation improvement, medical rescue and food safety, competition, and emergency response, each responsible for their respective tasks. As of now, preparations such as route setting, venue facilities, and road safety have all been completed.
