The site of the secret meeting held by Zhu De and the former site of the CPC Minzhong Special District Committee is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Catholic church that served as the site of the secret meeting held by Zhu De and the former site of the CPC Minzhong Special District Committee is located at No. 9 Yuhua Lane, Jianshe Street, Guyong Town, Jiangle County.

To meet the needs of the rapidly developing revolutionary situation, in January 1934, the CPC Fujian-Jiangxi Provincial Committee dispatched a work team led by Zheng Yisheng, head of the Provincial Finance Department, to Jiangle to re-establish the Jiangle County Soviet Government. At the same time, the CPC Huangtan Border Special Committee was renamed the CPC Minzhong Special District Committee, with Wang ×× as secretary. The special district committee oversaw nine district committees in Jiangle and one special branch in Sha County. The office of the CPC Minzhong Special District Committee was located in the Catholic church on Yuhua Lane, Jianshe Street, Guyong Town. Under the leadership of the CPC Minzhong Special District Committee, efforts included “establishing a revolutionary committee, organizing the Red Guards, demanding wage increases, and supervising production by bosses, resulting in wage hikes of 20% to seven or eight times.” Revolutionary struggles in the Jiangle Soviet Area flourished. On February 9 of that year, Commander-in-Chief Zhu De personally came from Taining to Jiangle to guide the revolutionary struggle and stayed in the building to the left of the Catholic church. At the office of the CPC Minzhong Special District Committee, Commander Zhu met with the leading cadres of the Jiangle County Soviet Government and over 20 underground party members who had persisted in the struggle. In light of the severe situation of the Fifth Encirclement Campaign, he provided specific guidance and decided that the 61st Regiment of the 21st Division of the Red 7th Army Corps would stay behind in Jiangle, with 20 cadres drawn from various battalions and regiments assigned to reinforce local efforts.

The original site of the secret meeting held by Zhu De and the former site of the CPC Minzhong Special District Committee was the Catholic church on Yuhua Lane in Jiangle County town. It faces southwest and is situated northeast, with a construction area of 296.4 square meters, an overall height of 14 meters, a width of 13 meters, and a depth of 22.8 meters. Along the central axis are, in sequence: the gate tower, the main hall, the altar, and the bell tower. The church is a single-courtyard brick-and-wood structure, with the bell tower consisting of three levels, each featuring an arched roof. The main hall is five bays wide and four pillars deep. On the west side of the church is a passageway, and on the east side is the priests’ dormitory building.

In June 2003, the Catholic church that served as the site of the secret meeting held by Zhu De and the former site of the CPC Minzhong Special District Committee was designated as a cultural relic protection site by the Jiangle County Cultural Relics Management Committee.
