Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs on Wuma Mountain

The Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs on Wuma Mountain serves as a base for science education and patriotic education.

The Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs on Wuma Mountain is located on Wuma Mountain in the southern part of Guyong Town, Jiangle County.

In memory of the martyrs, to inspire future generations, inherit the revolutionary spirit of the martyrs, and carry forward fine traditions, in 1959, the Jiangle County Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People's Government of Jiangle County built a monument to commemorate them on the eastern side of the county seat.

The Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs on Wuma Mountain was initially built in 1959 on the eastern side of the city, covering an area of only 19 square meters. It was rebuilt at its current location in 1983 and completed at the end of 1984. The monument faces northeast and is situated southwest, covering a total area of 30.1 mu (approximately 2.0 hectares), with a construction area of 2,243 square meters. A 340-meter cement mountain road was also constructed. The monument itself is 16.73 meters high, with the eight gilded characters "Revolutionary Martyrs Live Forever" engraved in blue granite on the front. The base of the monument has two levels, measuring 18 meters and 45.6 meters respectively. The open space in front of the monument spans 810 square meters and serves as a memorial viewing area. In 2008, the Jiangle County People's Government built a "Jiangle Revolutionary Martyrs' Names Wall" behind the monument, inscribed with the names of 116 martyrs.

In March 2011, the Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs on Wuma Mountain was designated as a Jiangle County Patriotic Education Base by the Jiangle County Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People's Government of Jiangle County.
