Tomb of Zhen Dexiu

The Tomb of Zhen Dexiu is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Tomb of Zhen Dexiu is located on Zhenchu Mountain in Yanchu Village, Liantang Town, Pucheng County, dating back to the Southern Song Dynasty.

Description: The tomb faces southeast and is situated northwest, with a "wind" character-shaped layout. It features a two-tiered terrace and covers an area of approximately 2,000 square meters. Built against the mountain, the tomb was damaged during the Cultural Revolution in the last century but was later restored on the original site. Zhen Dexiu (1178–1235), courtesy name Xiyuan, art name Xishan, was a native of Pucheng, Fujian, and a Neo-Confucian scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty. He became a Jinshi (advanced scholar) in the fifth year of the Qingyuan era, rose to the position of Minister of Revenue, and was appointed as参知政事 (Vice Chancellor). After his death, he was posthumously awarded the title of Jinshi Guanglu Daifu and given the posthumous name Wenzhong. His academic thought followed Zhu Xi, and he founded the Xishan Zhen School of Thought. His collected works are compiled in the 《Zhen Wenzhonggong Ji》.

Protected area: The area extends 20 meters outward from the perimeter of the tomb site.

In 2018, the Tomb of Zhen Dexiu was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Liantang Town: A township under the jurisdiction of Pucheng County. In 1958, it was part of Chengjiao Commune; in 1961, it was split off to become Shanqiao Commune, soon renamed Liantang Commune, and in 1984, it became a township. Located in the western suburbs of Nanpu Town, downstream of the Mali River, it covers an area of 146 square kilometers with a population of 27,000. The township government is seated in Xialian Tang. National Highway 205 runs southward through the township.
