Dazang Peak

Located at the Fourth Bend, Dazang Peak rises majestically, with half of its sheer face sloping into the water, blocking out the sun and sky. Atop the peak lies the Golden Rooster Cave, home to the golden rooster that flew here from the Seventh Bend. Below the peak is Wolong Pool, where the green waters are still and bottomless. To the west is the Immortal Fishing Platform, resembling a massive 10,000-ton ship about to set sail. Other nearby attractions include Pinglin Ferry, the Imperial Tea Garden, the Minor Ninth Bend, the Sword-Testing Stone, and the Poem-Inscribed Rock.

Pinglin Ferry was a crossing point to Tianyou Peak in ancient times. Carved into the stone wall are the inscriptions “Pang Gong’s Tea Spot” and “Too Busy to Attend to Everyone.” Pang Gong was a Ming Dynasty prefect of Jianzhou in Fujian. Disguised as a commoner, he came here and saw monks serving fine tea to guests, so he sat down hoping to enjoy some. But due to the large crowd and busy service, he had to wait a long time. After tasting the tea, Pang Gong wrote the words “Pang Gong’s Tea Spot,” left them on the tea table, and walked away. When the monks realized he was the prefect, they felt they had slighted him, so they carved his words onto the rock wall along with the phrase “Too Busy to Attend to Everyone” as an apology.
