China's most beautiful high-speed railway is now open！ EVA Air launches the first tour combining the "Mini Three Links" and high-speed rail to Wuyishan

With the opening of the Hefei-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway at the end of June, EVA Air launched its first tour package combining the Mini Three Links and high-speed rail to Wuyishan. The inaugural group tour on July 28 sold out within two weeks. At a tourism promotion event held in Wuyishan on the 22nd, Lin Chunsong, Executive Deputy Mayor of Wuyishan City, also participated in the exchange and promotion. He expressed hope that through EVA Air’s new route connecting Taiwan and Wuyishan, both sides can explore Wuyishan together and experience its breathtaking landscapes, fragrant tea, and hospitable people.

The Hefei-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway, which connects the three provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi, and Anhui, opened on June 28. The journey from Fuzhou to Hefei takes just 4.5 hours at speeds of approximately 300 km/h. The route passes through scenic areas such as Wuyishan, Huangshan, and Wuyuan, earning it the title of China’s “most beautiful high-speed railway” and creating a new travel corridor for tourists from both mainland China and Taiwan.

Wuyishan City alone boasts over 10 scenic spots, each with its own unique charm amid misty landscapes. Notable and must-visit attractions include Tianyou Peak, Tiger Roaring Rock, One-Line Sky, and the Nine-Bend Stream. For those who enjoy performances, two shows offer deeper insights into Wuyishan’s culture: the “Impression Dahongpao” directed by Zhang Yimou, Wang Chaoge, and Fan Yue, and the waterfall theater “Wuyi Water Show,” which tells the fantastical story of the Nine-Bend Stream. Tea tasting is also a highlight of Wuyishan—visitors simply must try a cup of Dahongpao tea to say they’ve truly been here.

Deputy Director Ge Yi of the Nanping City Tourism Bureau also introduced at the event that the 10 counties and districts under Nanping are collectively referred to as “Greater Wuyishan” in the tourism industry. Each of the four high-speed railway stations in the Nanping area is near 3A or 4A-level scenic spots. Highlights include the ancient town of Heping, waterfall hot springs, and Yunling Mountain rafting in Shaowu, which offer distinct experiences compared to Wuyishan’s attractions. He recommended that Taiwanese visitors explore not only Wuyishan but also the surrounding Greater Wuyishan tourism areas.

General Manager Lin Zhizhong of EVA Air also noted that while cross-strait travel has traditionally focused on transiting via Kinmen to Xiamen, this year a new element has been added. With the opening of the high-speed railway, Matsu and Mawei are now connected, forming a “Two Mountains, Two Waters” route linking Taiwan with Wuyishan. Travelers can now take a high-speed train from Xiamen to Wuyishan in just 3 hours, a significant improvement over the previous 5–6 hours by train and bus. This makes cross-strait travel more convenient than ever.
