To the north of the Three Bends Stream stands a solitary peak that soars sharply into the sky. Below the peak, the stream winds around, and halfway up the peak lies the Zhenwu Cave, at the mouth of which is a withered tree stump, said to be the spot where Jiang Taigong fished. The boat coffins on the Lesser Hidden Peak are said to be remnants of dwellings built by the ancient Yue people, but archaeologists believe they are the hanging coffins of the ancient Yue. Research indicates that as early as the Neolithic Age, the ancient Yue people thrived in the Wuyi Mountain area.

The ancient Yue people typically lived in clusters among streams, rivers, and valleys, skilled in felling trees and building boats. Boats were among the most precious items in their lives and work. When someone died, they would hollow out a thick nanmu tree trunk into a boat-shaped wooden coffin for burial.

The ancients placed these wooden coffins on cliffs in ways that remain unexplained to this day—these are called "hanging coffins on cliffs" or simply boat coffins. The wooden planks used to support the coffins or build plank roads are called "rainbow bridge planks." They date back 3,400 years.
