Lingyan

Introduction:

Lingyan is a massive rock formation hundreds of feet high and about a hundred zhang long. At its base lie three adjacent caves: Fuxi Cave, Wind Cave, and Lingyan Cave. Walking through these caves deep into Lingyan, you can look up to see a sliver of sunlight pouring down from the top of the rock, resembling a sapphire rainbow spanning the sky;

A fissure splits the huge rock in two, as if cleaved by a giant axe, the gap being less than a foot wide, making it one of the mountain’s most spectacular sights;

Fujian Wuyishan
