Huanggang Mountain Grand Canyon is just 38 kilometers from Wuyishan. With the opening of the new expressway, the drive from Wuyishan is only 360 kilometers and takes about four hours. Da’anyuan is known as the “Jiuzhai Paradise of Fujian,” featuring millennia-old primeval forests with a forest coverage rate of 98%. There are six scenic areas in Da’anyuan, among which the Huanggang Mountain Grand Canyon and the Longguiyuan Scenic Area were opened to visitors in 2009. The area boasts six major scenic spots, including the geological wonder “Huanggang Mountain Grand Canyon,” the “Pot Hole” site famous for its dozens of uniquely shaped deep pools, the massive rock waterfall attraction known as “Desert Spring” that rivals Baishuiyang, and the river section for rafting lined with thousands of wild bayberry trees.
