The Impression Dahongpao Theater has created the world’s largest theater space, featuring the world’s first 360-degree rotating audience seating, making it the world’s first “panoramic landscape cinema.” For centuries, the scenic beauty of Mount Wuyi has captivated visitors. Dahongpao tea from Mount Wuyi, known as the “King of Teas,” has enjoyed widespread fame since the Tang and Song dynasties. Its traditional production techniques were among the first to be listed as part of China’s national intangible cultural heritage, and later represented Chinese oolong tea in the application for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status. With the high-level creative direction of Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue, the profound and enduring tea culture has been artistically reimagined into a tangible and immersive cultural tourism experience. Together with the stunning natural landscape, it forms a high-caliber artistic extravaganza.

The performance area of the theater consists of ancient-style residential performance zones, elevated performance zones, sandbank performance zones, and river performance zones that surround the rotating audience seating. The ancient-style residential performance zone draws architectural inspiration from the historic Xiamei ancient residences at the foot of Mount Wuyi, giving the performance site the feel of a giant teahouse with 1,888 seats.

The seating offers a visual radius of over two kilometers, with connected stages that can unfold into a magnificent panorama stretching thousands of meters. From your seat, you can take in the views of Mount Wuyi’s most famous peaks, including the Great King Peak and Jade Maiden Peak. Meanwhile, attendants in traditional folk costumes will serve you a cup of China’s “King of Teas,” Dahongpao, allowing you to savor this celebrated brew.
