Zhu Zi Community Granary

The Zhu Zi Community Granary is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Zhu Zi Community Granary is located in Wuyi Village, Wufu Town, Wuyishan City, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Introduction: Originally named Wufu Community Granary, it was first built in the seventh year of the Qiandao era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1171). It was a privately-run community granary initiated and named by Zhu Xi. It has undergone renovations over the dynasties, and the existing main structure is a Qing Dynasty building. The building faces northwest and is situated southeast, with a total width of 17.6 meters and a total depth of 23 meters, covering a total area of 402 square meters. It consists of a main gate, gatehouse, courtyard, hall, and storage rooms on both sides, featuring double-sloped hanging gables, post-and-lintel wooden frameworks, and exterior rammed earth walls.

Protected area: Extend 20 meters outward from the east, south, and north walls, and 30 meters outward from the west wall.

In 2018, the Zhu Zi Community Granary was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Wuyi Village: Located at the center of Wufu Town, Wuyi Village serves as the political, economic, cultural, and financial hub of the town. It was also the place where Zhu Xi, the great Neo-Confucian master of the Song Dynasty, lived, lectured, and wrote. Existing relics related to Zhu Xi in the area include Ziyang Tower, the ruins of Pingshan Academy, Zhu Zi Lane, Wufu Community Granary, Wuxian Well, the Liu Family Chastity Archway, and the Street Central Archway.

With a total area of 8.99 square kilometers, including 2,513 mu of arable land and 7,700 mu of mountainous terrain, the village administers eight villager groups across three natural villages, with a total of 406 households and a population of 1,714.
