Xingxian Academy

Xingxian Academy is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Xingxian Academy is located in Xingxian Village, Wufu Town, Wuyishan City, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Introduction: Originally built during the Song Dynasty by Hu Xian, the enlightenment teacher of Zhu Xi, it initially served as a local school. It was destroyed during warfare in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in the 24th year of the Guangxu reign (1898) during the Qing Dynasty. The academy faces east and covers an area of 252 square meters. It currently consists of a main gate, front hall, courtyard, main hall, and more, built with brick and wood structures, featuring a flush gable roof and exquisite brick, wood, and stone carvings along with colorful painted decorations.

Protected Area: 20 meters beyond the roadside ditch to the east, and 20 meters beyond the exterior walls to the south, west, and north.

In 2018, Xingxian Academy was announced as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Xingxian Village: Located in the town center of Wufu Town, Xingxian Village covers an area of 2.33 square kilometers, with 165 households and a population of 632. It includes four villager groups, and its main industries are rice, tobacco, and white lotus. Xingxian Village is a key village for rural tourism.
