The Five Sages’ Wells are a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level of Wuyishan City.

The Five Sages’ Wells are located in Wuyi Village, Wufu Town, Wuyishan City, dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The Five Sages’ Wells have been designated as a county-level cultural heritage site.

Wuyi Village: Located at the center of Wufu Town, Wuyi Village serves as the town’s political, economic, cultural, and financial hub. It was the place where Zhu Xi, a renowned Neo-Confucian scholar of the Song Dynasty, lived, lectured, and wrote his works. Existing relics related to Zhu Xi in the area include: Ziyang Tower, the ruins of Pingshan Academy, Zhu Zi Lane, Wufu Community Granary, Five Sages’ Wells, the Liu Family Chastity Archway, and the Street Archway, among others.

Covering a total area of 8.99 square kilometers, the village includes 2,513 mu of arable land and 7,700 mu of mountainous terrain.
