Shengqing Building

Located in the northwest of Chuxi Village, built alongside a stream. A square-shaped earthen building, constructed in the fourth year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1799), facing south with a north orientation, covering an area of 1,482 square meters. It consists of two square structures, an outer and an inner building. The outer building is 39 meters wide, 27 meters deep, has four stories, and features one main gate; the inner building has two stories. It has an internal corridor-style layout. The entire building has 168 rooms, two halls, and four staircases. The ancestral hall is situated in the middle of the inner courtyard.

Chuxi Village: Chuxi Village is under the jurisdiction of Xiayang Town, Yongding County, Fujian Province, bordering Luxi Town, Pinghe, Zhangzhou. It is 15 kilometers away from Xiayang Town. Chuxi Village is located upstream of the Chuxi River, hence the name “Chu Xi” (Crude Stream Village). The village is embraced by mountains and surrounded by green waters, with verdant pines and bamboos covering the hills and terraced fields layering behind the buildings. The Chuxi Earthen Building Cluster consists of five round buildings and dozens of square ones. They are nestled against the mountains and by the water, arranged in a well-spaced and harmonious layout, showcasing high aesthetic and artistic value.
