Huaqing Building

Huaqing Building is situated in the middle of Chuxi Village, bordered by Fanqing Building to the west and Fuqing Building to the east. This rectangular earthen structure was built in the ninth year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1829), facing south. It covers about 480 square meters, stands two stories tall, spans 19.5 meters in width with five bays, and extends 20.5 meters in depth with six bays. It has an inner corridor system. The first floor lacks windows, and the rear hall serves as the ancestral shrine. The central hall is located in the middle of the inner courtyard and is single-story. The entire building has four staircases and one main gate.

Chuxi Village: Chuxi Village is under the jurisdiction of Xiayang Town, Yongding County, Fujian Province, bordering Luxi Town of Pinghe County, Zhangzhou. It lies 15 kilometers from Xiayang Town. The village gets its name, originally "Crude Stream Village," from its location upstream of the Chuxi River. Nestled among green mountains and surrounded by clear waters, Chuxi is flanked by verdant pines and bamboo-covered hills, with terraced fields cascading behind the buildings. The Chuxi Earthen Building Complex consists of five round buildings and dozens of square ones. These structures are set against the hills and near the water, arranged in a harmonious and picturesque layout that showcases remarkable aesthetic and artistic value.
