Gengqing Building

Gengqing Building is located in the northern part of Chuxi Village, situated between Jiqing Building and Yuqing Building. It is a circular earthen building constructed in the 29th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1849), facing south and covering an area of approximately 660 square meters. With a diameter of 33 meters and three stories high, each floor has 37 bays and features an interior corridor layout. Only three of the internal partition walls are made of compacted raw earth, while the rest are adobe brick walls. The building has two staircases and two main gates. The ancestral hall is located in the center of the inner courtyard and is a single-story structure built with brick and wood.

Chuxi Village: Chuxi Village is under the jurisdiction of Xiayang Town, Yongding County, Fujian Province, bordering Luxi Town, Pinghe County, Zhangzhou. It is 15 kilometers away from Xiayang Town. The village is named after the Chuxi (literally "Crude Stream") River, which flows through it. Nestled among lush mountains and surrounded by clear waters, Chuxi Village boasts verdant pines and bamboos on the hillsides and terraced fields behind the buildings. The Chuxi Earthen Building Complex consists of five round buildings and dozens of square ones. They are nestled against the hills and by the water, arranged in a well-spaced and harmonious layout that showcases remarkable aesthetic and artistic value.
