Fuqing Building

Fuqing Building is located in the southeastern part of Chuxi Village. This oval-shaped earthen building was constructed in the 29th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1849), faces north, and covers an area of 660 square meters. It has a single ring structure and is three stories high. Each floor has 30 rooms, one hall, no windows on the first and second floors, three staircases, and one main gate. The ancestral hall is situated in the middle of the inner courtyard, is square-shaped, single-story, and slopes from front to back.

Chuxi Village: Chuxi Village is under the jurisdiction of Xiayang Town, Yongding County, Fujian Province, bordering Luxi Town, Pinghe County, Zhangzhou. It is 15 kilometers away from Xiayang Town. Located upstream of the Chuxi River, hence originally named “Crude Creek Village.” The village is embraced by mountains and surrounded by water, with verdant pine and bamboo forests on the hills and terraced fields stacked behind the buildings. The Chuxi Earthen Building Complex consists of five round buildings and dozens of square buildings. They are nestled against the mountains and beside the water, arranged in a well-spaced and harmonious layout, showcasing exceptional aesthetic and artistic value.
