Ruxing Lou This building is located in the northern part of Hongkeng Village, facing Fuyu Lou across the Hongchuan Stream. Commonly known as the Rice Measure Tower, it earned its nickname due to its size and shape resembling the traditional bamboo container (also called a rice measure) used by locals to measure rice and grains in ancient times. Built during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty (1875–1908), it is a residence of the Lin family. The structure faces west and is oriented eastward, featuring a single-ring layout, earthen and wooden construction, three stories high, with a diameter of 23 meters. Each floor has 16 rooms arranged along an inner corridor. The ground floor is used for kitchens and dining areas and has no windows; the second floor also lacks windows and houses grain storage, while the third floor contains bedrooms. The entire building has only one entrance. The main gate, the entrance hall, and the rear hall (ancestral hall) are all aligned along the central axis. A well is located in the courtyard within the building. The roof features a double-slope design with clay tiles, and the wooden frame combines both post-and-lintel and beam-raising construction methods.
