The Yongding Uprising Site — Jinping Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Fujian Province.

The Yongding Uprising Site — Jinping Temple is located in Xitian Village, Jinsha Township, Yongding County, Longyan City. It was built in the first year of the Jingding era of the Song Dynasty (1260). Covering an area of 1,024 square meters, the structure is made of brick and wood. It served as the main birthplace of the Yongding Uprising, as well as the founding site of Fujian’s first Red Army unit and the region’s first red political power — the Xikou District Soviet Government. Between 1931 and 1934, the site hosted multiple conferences of the Yongding County Communist Party Congress and the Yongding County Workers’, Peasants’ and Soldiers’ Congress. In 1961, it was designated as a cultural heritage site protected by Fujian Province.

Xitian Village: Xitian Village is located in the town center of Jinsha Township, a well-known revolutionary base area, just 6 kilometers from Yongding County’s urban area. It is the hometown of Zhang Dingcheng, former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, first Procurator-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, first Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee after liberation, and first Chairman of the Provincial Government; General Zhang Yuanpei, former Commander of the South China Sea Fleet; Zhang Muyao, former Director of the State Commercial Inspection Bureau; and Zhang Jinhui, one of China’s Top Ten Young Heroes and a martyr.
