Xibei Lin Ancestral Hall

Xibei Lin Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Xibei Lin Ancestral Hall is located in Xibei Village, Gaobei Town, Yongding District, Longyan City, dating back to the Ming Dynasty and the Republican era.

Description: Originally built in the early Yuan Dynasty, it was reconstructed in the 13th year of the Hongzhi reign during the Ming Dynasty (1500) and underwent major renovations in the 17th year of the Republican era. The hall faces east and covers an area of approximately 7,200 square meters. Along the central axis from east to west are a pond, surrounding walls, a front hall, a courtyard, the main hall, and a rear hill, along with side wings. The main entrance is situated on the right side of the ancestral hall. The main hall features a gable-and-pan roof structure with purlins resting on gable walls. The overall architecture presents a terraced design that is lower in the front and higher in the back, with a flush gable roof.

Protected area: A buffer zone extending 40 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2018, Xibei Lin Ancestral Hall was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Xibei Village: Xibei Village has a population of 6,238, with 1,620 households and 46 villager groups. It currently has 162 Party members, organized into three Party branches, making it the largest administrative village in Gaobei Town. The village has about 38,000 mu of forested land and 3,600 mu of arable land. It is also home to the Xibei Tianhou Temple, a national key cultural heritage site.

Xibei Village is located upstream of the Yongding River, on the western side of Gaobei Town. The Yongding River flows around the village, stretching 6 kilometers from one end to the other.
