Site of the Xinan Arsenal at Zou Gong Temple
The Site of the Xinan Arsenal at Zou Gong Temple is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.
The Site of the Xinan Arsenal at Zou Gong Temple is located within the campus of Jinsha Central Primary School in Yongding District, Longyan City, dating back to 1927.
Description: Constructed in the 46th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1781), the building faces east and is square-shaped, built with earth and wood. It has a total width of 10 meters, a depth of 16 meters, and covers an area of approximately 190 square meters. It consists of a front hall, rear hall, and corridors on both sides, with a courtyard in the center. In October 1927, in accordance with the spirit of the “August 7th” meeting of the Chinese Communist Party, the Fujian Southern Special Committee of the CCP issued instructions to “center peasant uprisings in Fujian Southern around Pinghe and Yongding,” and made specific arrangements for the Yongding peasant uprising. The Yongding District Committee was urged to quickly shift leadership focus to rural areas. Based on actual conditions, the Yongding District Committee trained activists, strengthened and developed party and league organizations, and secretly developed the Iron Blood League organization. Military training was conducted, and in October 1927, the district’s party organization established an arsenal at Zou Gong Temple.
Protected area: To the east up to the road; to the west, 20 meters outward from the exterior wall; to the south up to the exterior wall of the school building; to the north up to the exterior wall of the teaching building.
In 2018, the Site of the Xinan Arsenal at Zou Gong Temple was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.
