The Former Site of the Huangtian Township Party Branch of the CPC is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Former Site of the Huangtian Township Party Branch of the CPC is located in Huangtian Village, Gaopi Town, Yongding District, Longyan City, dating from 1928 to 1949.

Description: The Huangtian Township Party Branch of the CPC was established in May 1929 at Maolong Building. Maolong Building was built in the fifth year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1825), facing east and situated west, with an earth-and-wood structure and a flush gable roof. It covers an area of 6,660 square meters, with a construction area of 3,306 square meters, including the main building, auxiliary buildings, courtyard, wing rooms, and rear open space. The main building is a four-story earthen building constructed with rammed earth, flanked by a row of three-story auxiliary buildings on the right, with a row of wing rooms on each side of the courtyard, and an open rear space. Maolong Building served as a revolutionary stronghold for the First District (Taiping District) directly under the Central Soviet Area in Western Fujian (which includes the four towns of Hugang, Gaopi, Kanshi, and Peifeng under the jurisdiction of the current Economic Development Zone). From 1928 to 1949, Maolong Building was an important stop along the Central Red Transportation Line, the site of the Taiping District Soviet Committee, the Huangtian Township Party Branch of the CPC, and the Huangtian Township Soviet Government. It also functioned as a key liaison station for the Minxi Southwest Military-Political Committee, local Red Army forces in Western Fujian, the Red Guards, and the guerrilla units of the Min-Yue-Gan Border Area, becoming known as the “tower of the unyielding red flag.”

Protected area: 50 meters east of the main gate, 50 meters west of Beitou Gully, south to the village road, and north to the irrigation channel.

In 2018, the Former Site of the Huangtian Township Party Branch of the CPC was announced by the People’s Government of Fujian Province as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units.

Huangtian Village: Huangtian Village is located in the southern part of Gaopi Town, Yongding County, with boundaries extending east to Beishan Village and Hexing Village, south to Kanshi Town, west to Fuqikeng in Xujia Village, and north to Xibei Village. The village covers an area of over 12,000 mu (including more than 1,000 mu of mountainous land). The population is 3,028, with 1,017 households, comprising seven surnames: Zhang, Lu, Lin, Chen, Liao, Wei, and Xu. There are 22 villager groups and 80 party members in the village. The area is rich in mineral resources and boasts beautiful natural conditions. It is also the site of the provincial key project New Longma Company. Currently, the entire village has been relocated to the Lianhua Resettlement Community.
