The Former Site of the Fourth Red Army’s Front Committee – Lai Family Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Former Site of the Fourth Red Army’s Front Committee – Lai Family Ancestral Hall is located at No. 110, Jiuyi Middle Road, Fengcheng Subdistrict, Yongding District, Longyan City, dating back to 1929.

Description: Built in the 14th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1834), it faces south with a north orientation, features a brick-and-wood structure, has a total width of 13 meters and a depth of 21 meters, covering an area of approximately 350 square meters, and follows a single-courtyard veranda layout. It is divided into front and rear halls, with wing rooms on both sides. The rear hall has two stories, a post-and-lintel wooden frame, and a flush gable roof. From May 25 to 27, 1929, when the Fourth Red Army entered Fujian for the second time, its Front Committee Command was stationed here, and Comrade Mao Zedong, the Party representative of the Fourth Red Army, resided in this building. On the evening of May 25, Mao presided over a joint meeting of the Fourth Red Army’s Front Committee and the Yongding District Committee of the Communist Party of China here, and established the Yongding District Revolutionary Committee.

Protective boundary: The area extends 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2018, the Former Site of the Fourth Red Army’s Front Committee – Lai Family Ancestral Hall was announced by the People’s Government of Fujian Province as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units.
