The Former Site of the Special Committee of the Communist Party of China for the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Border Region is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Former Site of the Special Committee of the Communist Party of China for the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Border Region is located at Yanggongtang, Huxi Village, Hugang Town, Yongding District, dating back to 1931.

Description: Originally known as Yanggongtang, it was built in the early years of the Republic of China. The structure faces east and is situated west, with a layout that is lower in the front and higher in the back. It consists of a front hall, middle hall, and rear hall, covering a total area of 558 square meters. Both the front and middle halls have one floor, while the rear hall has four and a half floors. On December 15, 1930, organs such as the Fujian-Western Special Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Fujian-Western Soviet Government relocated to Hugang in Yongding, making Hugang the center of the Fujian-Western revolutionary base. In accordance with the resolution of the Third Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Party regarding the establishment of a Central Bureau in the Central Soviet Area to directly guide the special committees of the Party in various Soviet areas and the merger of the Fujian-Western and Dongjiang special committees into the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Border Special Committee, the Party Central Committee dispatched Deng Fa to the Fujian-Western region. He presided over the first representative conference of the Party in the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi border region in Hugang, establishing the Special Committee (Provincial Committee) for the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Border Region and electing Deng Fa as the Secretary of the Special Committee. In May 1931, the Special Committee of the Communist Party of China for the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Border Region was renamed the Provisional Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China for the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Soviet Region (also known as the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Provincial Committee).

Protected area: An extension of 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2018, the Former Site of the Special Committee of the Communist Party of China for the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Border Region was announced by the People’s Government of Fujian Province as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units.

Huxi Village: Huxi Village currently has a population of 4,450, with 38 villager groups, a total of 1,300 households, and a land area of 15.6 square kilometers. It features 16,800 mu of forested land, with a forest coverage rate of 71%, and 2,780 mu of arable land. The area includes the famous Mangdangyang Scenic Area and the Red Scarf Reservoir. It is an important part of the Red Land in Western Fujian and was once the location of over 40 government and military units, including the Special Committee of the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi Border Region, the Border Region Military Command, the Third Branch of the Military-Political School, the Fujian-Western Soviet Government, the Workers’ and Peasants’ Bank, and the Lenin Normal School.
