The former site of the headquarters of the First Column of the Fourth Red Army (Wuzi Hall) is located in Hudong Village, Hugang Town, dating back to 1929.

The headquarters of the First Column of the Fourth Red Army is located at Wuzi Hall in Huyang, Hudong, Hugang Town. Built in the early years of the Republic of China, it faces west and features a square-shaped, earthen-and-timber structure covering an area of 1,200 square meters. It is a two-courtyard, three-section building with wings extending horizontally. The roof is of the hanging-hip style, with purlins supported on gable walls. After 1970, the rear hall collapsed. On June 3, 1929, with the cooperation of revolutionary forces from Longyan and Taiping District, the Fourth Red Army successfully attacked Longyan City twice. Mao Zedong directed the First Column of the Fourth Red Army to enter Hugang from Gaopi, with the column’s headquarters stationed at Wuzi Hall in Huyang, Hudong. The Fourth Red Army carried out revolutionary activities here.

Hudong Village: The total land area of Hudong Village is 20.6 square kilometers, with forested land covering 23,360 mu, arable land 2,800 mu, and actual forested area 22,500 mu, resulting in a forest coverage rate of 72%. The village has 29 villager groups, a total of 976 households, a population of 3,600, and a labor force of 2,900. The terrain of Hudong Village is unique, with beautiful scenery and pleasant surroundings. It is rich in mineral resources and known for its production of flue-cured tobacco. The village is adjacent to Gaopi Town.
