The former site of the Xibei Transport Station (Shide Hall), also known as the Lin Family Lower Ancestral Hall, was built in the 17th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1678). It faces southwest to northeast, features an earth-and-wood structure, a single-courtyard veranda-style layout, with a total width of 26.4 meters and a total depth of 19.3 meters, covering a floor area of 580 square meters. Along the central axis from northeast to southwest are a crescent-shaped pond, enclosing wall, rain terrace, courtyard, and main hall. The main hall is single-story, with a central shrine enshrining the spirit tablets of “the Eighth Generation Ancestral Founder Xihu Gong and other ancestors of the lineage.” It has a gable-and-hip roof with purlins supported on gable walls. A gate tower is situated on the north side. In 1927, after the “April 12” counter-revolutionary coup, numerous Communists and revolutionary masses were arrested and killed, and terror spread across the nation. Following the incident, reactionary forces in our county also began suppressing the revolution, forcibly dissolving mass organizations such as the County Peasants’ Association, trade unions, and student unions. In May, village-level peasant associations and trade unions went underground, with the Shide Hall of the Lower Ancestral Hall serving as the activity site for the underground branch of the CPC in Xibi. During the Soviet Area period, it was used as a meeting place for the Peasants’ Association. After the wrongful execution of Lin Jinsong, owner of the “Jiucheng Building,” the transport station was moved here. As the enemy situation grew increasingly severe, the transport office in Taiping was also relocated here from Huangtian Maolong Building. In the later stages of the Liberation War, it became an activity site for the Xibi guerrilla unit. In July and August 1949, part of the Fujian–Guangdong–Jiangxi Column stayed at Shide Hall for rest and regrouping.
