The Former Site of the Soviet Government of Taiping District (Shuangshou Hall) is a cultural relic protection unit of Yongding District.

The Former Site of the Soviet Government of Taiping District (Shuangshou Hall) is located in Xibi Village, Gaopi Town, dating back to 1929.

The Former Site of the Soviet Government of Taiping District (Xibi Dafudi), also called Shuangshou Hall, was built in the 6th year of the Republic of China (1917). It faces west and is situated on the east side, featuring an earth-and-timber structure, a square layout, with a total width of 25 meters and a depth of 28 meters, covering an area of 930 square meters. The building has a two-courtyard, three-section layout with side wings. The central axis from west to east includes the front hall, courtyard, main hall, courtyard, and main tower. The main tower has three stories, designed in a watchtower style with a double-room layout. It features a hip-and-gable roof and a post-and-lintel wooden frame. On the north side, there is a grand entrance with a stone-framed gate and carved stone couplets, flanked by exquisitely detailed stone carvings of flowers and figures. On May 23, 1929, under the personal guidance of Mao Zedong, the “Taiping Revolutionary Committee” was established. In June of that year, the Taiping Revolutionary Committee was reorganized into the Soviet Government of Taiping District, with Zheng Ronglan as the district Soviet chairman and Lin Meiting (later replaced by Lin Xiufu) as the secretary of the CPC Taiping District Committee.

Protected Area: The protected area extends 30 meters outward from the east, south, west, and north sides of the Former Site of the Soviet Government of Taiping District (Xibi Dafudi).

Construction Control Zone: A buffer zone extending 50 meters outward from the boundary of the protected area.

Xibi Village: Xibi Village has a population of 6,238, with 1,620 households and 46 villager groups. It currently has 162 Party members, organized into three Party branches, making it the largest administrative village in Gaopi Town. The village covers approximately 38,000 mu of forested land and 3,600 mu of arable land, and it is home to the Xibi Tianhou Palace, a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Xibi Village is located upstream of the Yongding River, on the western side of Gaopi Town, with the Yongding River flowing around the village for a length of 6 kilometers from one end to the other.
