The former site of the Hejia Soviet Government (Xu Jia Shangshan Huaide Hall) is a cultural relic protection unit of Yongding District.

The former site of the Hejia Soviet Government (Xu Jia Shangshan Huaide Hall) is located in Xu Jia Village, Gaopi Town, dating back to 1929.

Huaide Hall is located on Shangshan in Xu Jia Village, Gaopi Town. This historical site is a square earthen building with a square doorway, reflecting traditional Hakka architectural style. The main building has four floors, featuring a watchtower-style design, covering a land area of 920 square meters and a building area of 640 square meters. In early August 1929, after guiding the convening of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China in Western Fujian at Wenchang Pavilion in Jiaoyang, Shanghang, under the alias Mr. Yang and accompanied by his wife He Zizhen, Mao Zedong, escorted by Su Yu, traveled from Jiaoyang, Shanghang via Dayangba and Yongding Hugang. When passing through Hejia, he stayed at “Huaide Hall,” then moved on to Sanbao, and later went to Wuhu Shangzhai in Fusui for medical treatment. At that time, Wu Yinchong, chairman of the Hejia Township Soviet Government, provided accommodation for the guerrilla forces of the Western Fujian Soviet Area at “Huaide Hall,” making it the command center for the Yan-Yong guerrillas.
