Deng Zihui's Former Residence (Ancestral Home of Zheng Yongjing) is located in Wenxi Village, Peifeng Town, dating back to 1928.

Deng Zihui's Former Residence (Ancestral Home of Zheng Yongjing): Located in Zheng Courtyard, Wenxi Village, Peifeng Town, it was originally built in 1890 by the father of Zheng Rongjin, a renowned revolutionary martyr from western Fujian. The residence faces southwest and is oriented northeast, built with earthen walls and wooden frames. Covering an area of 500 square meters, the main structure spans 300 square meters. The front section is single-story, while the rear has two stories, featuring two halls, three rooms, and one kitchen. There are three entrances, a hip-and-gable roof, and a post-and-lintel wooden frame. This residence served as an important site for the early revolutionary activities of Deng Zihui, who later became Vice Premier of the State Council, making it a significant revolutionary heritage site. Before 1928, Deng Zihui operated primarily from Longyan, while Zheng Yongjing focused on the Taiping Subdistrict of Yongding. They separately mobilized the masses to unite and engage in revolutionary struggles, establishing party organizations. Following the initiation of the famous Hou Tian Uprising by Deng Zihui and others against the Kuomintang reactionaries—and due to being outnumbered—they were forced to retreat to Peifeng Public School to join forces with the Taiping District revolutionary contingent and strengthen their ranks. During this period, Deng Zihui stayed at the home of his old classmate Zheng Yongjing for a full three months, where numerous crucial meetings were planned and discussed. It was here that Fujian Province’s first guerrilla unit was formed, and the largest autumn harvest uprising in western Fujian—the Taiping Autumn Harvest Uprising—was organized. These efforts made major contributions to expanding the revolutionary forces and mobilizing public participation in the revolution, laying a solid foundation and providing strong support for the Red Army’s entry into Fujian under Mao Zedong’s leadership in 1929 to establish the Soviet base. On March 5, 2008, Deng Zihui’s descendants, including Deng Yisheng and Deng Fangmei, visited the site specifically. On April 25, 2009, Deng Yisheng personally inscribed three calligraphic works: “Deng Zihui’s Former Residence,” “Zheng Rongjin Memorial Hall,” and “Heroic Spirit Lives On.”

Protected Area: East to the boundary with the Zheng Family Ancestral Temple, west to the old house, south to the small path, and north to the house of Zheng Qilian.

Wenxi Village: Wenxi Village is located in the northwest of Peifeng Town, with a population of approximately 5,380 people, comprising 32 villager groups across 12 surnames including Zheng, Zhang, and Rao. The village has a total cultivated land area of 2,400 mu and is one of the larger villages in Peifeng Town. It also encompasses about 4,000 mu of forest and ecological forest.
