The Former Site of Banshan Transport Station (Guanyin Tower) is a cultural relic protection unit of Yongding District.

The Former Site of Banshan Transport Station (Guanyin Tower) is located in HeDiao Village, Hexi Township, dating back to 1929.

The Former Site of Banshan Transport Station (Guanyin Tower), located on Banshan in HeDiao Village, Hexi Township, was originally built during the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1796–1820). The site is square-shaped, built with earth and timber, faces south, has a total width of 17.8 meters, a total depth of 31.9 meters, and covers an area of 567.8 square meters. The existing built-up area is 240 square meters. The main building, Guanyin Tower, is the original main structure. Built along the mountain terrain with a “one”-shaped front corridor, it has five bays in width—two rooms on the west side are three stories high, two central rooms are two stories high, and one room on the east side is single-story. It features a hip-and-gable roof with purlins resting on gable walls. Banshan Guanyin Tower is located along the historic salt-carrying route from Guangdong to Shanghang. When Mao Zedong traveled from Hexi’s Shijian Building to Shanghang, and when Zhou Enlai departed from Mengliang Ancestral Hall en route to Shanghang, they both passed through the ancient Banshan path and were hosted by the old liaison families, brothers Luo Shuzhang (documented at the Civil Affairs Bureau) and Luo Lizhang (who later joined the main forces heading north). During the revolutionary war period, Banshan Village originally had over 300 residents, but by the founding of New China, only 24 remained. Many villagers either joined revolutionary forces or engaged in underground work, and most sacrificed their lives.

HeDiao Village: HeDiao Village has 432 households and 1,762 residents, organized into 10 villager groups. It has 2,128 mu of arable land, including 2,081 mu of paddy fields. The village has 43 Party members, including 2 female members. In 2011, the per capita net income was 4,362 yuan. The main crops are rice, and cash crops include flue-cured tobacco and fruits.
