Chángtián Revolutionary Site – Crooked Mouth Fort is a Fujian Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism destination.

Chángtián Revolutionary Site – Crooked Mouth Fort is located in Chángtián Natural Village, Hùnèi Village, Jīnxīng Township, Zhào'ān County, dating from 1929 to 1949.

Introduction: Crooked Mouth Fort is a fortified residential building where the Shěn clan of Chángtián lived together, and it was also the former residence of Shěn Zhòu, a loyal Ming Dynasty official, and Général Shěn Ruìzhōu, a patriotic military leader during the late Qing and Republican periods. The fortress was built during the Ming Dynasty. Its name “Crooked Mouth” comes from the fact that, due to limitations in the building site during construction, the main gate was offset from the central axis. It covers a construction area of 1,038 square meters and retains the original layout and spatial structure from when it was first built. The building has two stories, and the rear gable wall meets the side gable walls with rounded corners. The exterior walls are made of rammed earth built high, and the second floor is dotted with gun ports, giving it typical defensive features. In front of the fort’s gate plaza stands a stone flagpole erected in honor of Shěn Ruìzhōu, a martial arts scholar and imperial guard with a peacock feather in the Qing Dynasty in 1877. Crooked Mouth Fort served as an important command post for the Wushan Guerrilla Unit and a key activity base for the Southern Fujian Detachment of the Minyuegan Border Region. During the Second Revolutionary Civil War, figures such as Lín Qiūguāng, leader of the Wushan Guerrilla Unit, Shěn Mùcái, leader of the guerrilla guard unit, and guerrilla members Shěn Chángyuán, Shěn Biǎntóu, and Shěn Āhú, as well as Lú Shèng and Chén Wénpíng, leaders of the CCP Yúnhézhào County Committee and the Minyue Independent Battalion during the Anti-Japanese War, and Wáng Hànjié and Lǐ Āwěi, leaders of the Southern Fujian Detachment of the Minyuegan Border Region during the Liberation War, all held meetings, made contacts, and carried out revolutionary activities here over extended periods. From 1929 to 1949, over 60 young and middle-aged villagers from Hùnèi Village joined the Wushan Guerrilla Unit, making significant sacrifices and contributions to the revolution.

In 2018, Chángtián Revolutionary Site – Crooked Mouth Fort was designated as part of the ninth batch of Fujian Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Hùnèi Village: Located at the foot of Jiǔhòu Mountain, Jīnxīng Township’s Hùnèi Village has 1,136 households, a total population of 4,262, and 90 Party members.
