The Former Site of the CPC Minnan Regional Committee Headquarters, Dongpu Wushan Triangle Cave, is a Fujian Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism destination.

The Former Site of the CPC Minnan Regional Committee Headquarters, Dongpu Wushan Triangle Cave, is located in Beize Natural Village, Dongpu Village, Dongxing Township, Zhao’an County, dating back to the years 1934–1949.

Description: The headquarters was mainly based in mountain caves. Existing sites include the meeting room, kitchen, troop hiding cave, assault platform, and the residence of the committee leaders. It is called Triangle Cave because the main cave entrance is triangular in shape. In January 1941, the CPC Zhangzhou Central County Committee was renamed the CPC Minnan Special Committee, overseeing the CPC Pinghe, Zhangpu, and Yunhezhao County Committees, as well as the CPC Zhangzhou and Zhangnan Working Committees. In the winter of the same year, after Lu Dao took over as secretary, the special committee headquarters was relocated to the mountain valley area around Triangle Cave. In November 1946, the CPC Minnan Special Committee was renamed the CPC Minnan Regional Committee. This site witnessed both the War of Resistance Against Japan and the Liberation Struggle, serving as the command center of the revolutionary movement in southern Fujian. The revolutionary flag flew here for 17 consecutive years until the founding of New China, earning it the reputation of the “Jinggang Mountains of Southern Fujian.”

In 2018, the Former Site of the CPC Minnan Regional Committee Headquarters, Dongpu Wushan Triangle Cave, was designated as part of the ninth batch of Fujian Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected Area: The caves in the Triangle Cave area, including the meeting room, kitchen, and troop hiding cave—each with a buffer zone extending 50 meters outward.

Dongpu Village: The Dongpu work area village is located at the foot of Dongpu Mountain, 500 meters south of Xuliao and 300 meters north of Hongxing Farm. The village has 15 households and a population of 534, divided into three villager groups, with 24 Party members. It has 25 acres of arable land, including 10 acres of paddy fields and 15 acres of dry land. The per capita net income is 4,500 yuan. Villagers mainly engage in agriculture and construction. The village has several construction teams providing building services, and working away from home is common. There is no prominent local industry.
